Our Family Farm

Located in South Canyon County, Idaho Farm and Flower, LLC is family-owned and operated. Our story begins when we (The Anderson family) decided to leave suburbia almost 9 years  ago to find a home in the country where we could raise our family.

We found a home built in 1950 on nearly 13 acres. It was originally a project house for the Boise-Kuna Irrigation District. Our understanding is the small home was occupied by employees who were tasked with maintaining the irrigation canals in the area. We've come across what we believe are old footings for the aqueducts used to move water from the higher to lower elevations of the farm. We love learning about the history of this old place!

The wildlife around our place abounds. The Great Horned Owls hoot at us in the evenings. The Red-Tail Hawks nest in a huge tree just across the pasture. We love watching them catch the updrafts and hover while keeping a watch for their next meal. A couple herons come back every year. They are so majestic! Beyond the birds, we do see the occasional coyote and badger and other critters, but they tend to keep to themselves.  With our natural growing practices, we have seen a huge increase of wildlife since moving here. Everything works in harmony and we love it!

We gradually added a small herd of Dexter cattle, a flock of chickens, a herd of Large Black hogs and a couple goats - just to keep life interesting! We keep adding trees, shrubs, vines and canes- there weren't any fruit-bearing plants when we bought the place! We really amped up the annual veggies and flower production, too.

Our youngest daughter has an interest in business, so we've added a cut flower operation to our farm and the official launch of Idaho Farm and Flower began.
